No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Socar Petkim (9-7) beat at home 12th ranked Mamak DSI (5-11) 86-82 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 23-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Mamak DSI was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Tyler Smith (201-86, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. American-DR Congolese center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. Socar Petkim's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) replied with 22 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and the former international swingman Rifat Murat Kaya (194-84, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 25 points in the effort for Mamak DSI. Newly promoted Socar Petkim maintains sixth position with 9-7 record, which they share with Gelisim. Loser Mamak DSI dropped to the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. Socar Petkim will face Gediz (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mamak DSI will play against ITU Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
