The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Tonybet's (6-15) home loss to eighth ranked Lietkabelis (8-14) 79-87 on Saturday. Tonybet was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Lietkabelis, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Lietkabelis' coach Mindaugas Budzinauskas used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) with 21 points and 5 assists and forward Arnas Labuckas (203-87) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lietkabelis maintains eighth position with 8-14 record. Tonybet lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. Lietkabelis will meet at home higher ranked Dzukija (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tonybet will play against Siauliai (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
