Regular Season Round 16: Quimper - Mulhouse 96-88

There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Quimper UJAP (5-10) defeated at home 13th ranked Mulhouse Basket (4-10) 96-88. Mulhouse Basket was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 26-17 charge of Quimper UJAP, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Quimper UJAP players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) who scored that evening 22 points and 6 assists and American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Quimper UJAP's coach Hugues Occansey allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points by American-Jamaican Ronald Yates (200-83, college: St.Peter's) did not help to save the game for Mulhouse Basket. Lithuanian point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) added 21 points for lost side. Five Quimper UJAP and four Mulhouse Basket players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP moved-up to thirteenth place. Newly promoted Mulhouse Basket dropped to the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Quimper UJAP's next round opponent will be higher ranked Saint Vallier (#8) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mulhouse Basket will play against La Rochelle (#7) and hope to win that game.
