Very predictable result when sixth ranked Rybnik (7-7) won against on the road 11th ranked Gdynia (2-12) 75-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rybnik. Gdynia managed to win fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American center Drey Mingo (191-89, college: Purdue, agency: LBM Management) notched 26 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and the other American import guard Leah Metcalf (170-83, college: N.Carolina) supported her with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by power forward Dominika Miloszewska (190-94) did not help to save the game for Gdynia. Ukrainian forward Katerina Dorogobuzova (190-90) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rybnik maintains sixth position with 7-7 record. Gdynia lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Rybnik will meet at home Widzew (#10) in the next round. Gdynia will play against AZS UMCS in Lublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
