Regular Season Round 9: Estudiantes - Andratx 60-40

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Andratx (3-5) was outleveled by ninth ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (4-5) in Madrid 60-40 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ASEFA Estudiantes. Andratx was better in fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ASEFA Estudiantes forced 22 Andratx turnovers and had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Maria Conde (184-97) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Teresa Lopez Perez (180-96) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach Adolfo Gonzalez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Nogaye Lo Sylla (192-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Miriam Bolivar (187-90) added 3 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Andratx. ASEFA Estudiantes moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Segle XXI. Andratx lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. ASEFA Estudiantes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena CREF Hola.
