Regular Season Round 12: ZTE NKK - UNIQA Eurol. 79-89

A Division top team - MKB Euroleasing (11-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked ZTE NKK (4-6) in Zalaegerszeg 89-79. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. ZTE NKK was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Kayla McBride (180-92, college: Notre Dame) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Bria Hartley (173-92, college: Connecticut) supported her with 22 points. MKB Euroleasing's coach Igor Polenek allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals by point guard Dora Nagy (170-95) did not help to save the game for ZTE NKK. American guard Samantha Mackay (173-91, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points. Five MKB Euroleasing and four ZTE NKK players scored in double figures. MKB Euroleasing have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. ZTE NKK at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. MKB Euroleasing will play against Cegledi EKK (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. ZTE NKK will play against MTK in Budapest and hopes to get back on the winning track.
