Bottom-ranked Osmaniye managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Osmaniye won against ninth-ranked Mersin 73-66. And what about a second win in a row after ...nine consecutive loses. Mersin was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 25-12 charge of Osmaniye, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American D'Andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: Fly Basketball) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Montenegrin guard Jelena Skerovic (176-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Osmaniye players scored in double figures. American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds and Bulgarian-American point guard Doneeka Hodges-Lewis (175-82, college: LSU, agency: LBM Management) added 10 points and 8 assists respectively for Mersin in the defeat. Osmaniye (2-9) moved-up to twelfth place. Mersin lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Canik Bld. Osmaniye will meet at home higher ranked Edirne (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
