Regular Season Round 11: Benfica - Oliveirense 95-51

The game between Top Four teams took place in Benfica. First ranked host Benfica (10-1) smashed 4th placed Oliveirense (6-5) 95-51. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Oliveirense. The game without a history. Benfica led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Oliveirense 39-25 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Benfica looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Oliveirense's players. It was a great evening for American forward Seth Doliboa (203-80, college: Wright St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Jobey Thomas (194-80, college: Charlotte) helped adding 20 points. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. American point guard Kenyon McNeaill (185-91, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 16 points and swingman Renato Azevedo (186-91) scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Benfica have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record. Oliveirense at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Benfica are looking forward to face Galitos-Tley (#11) in Barreiro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oliveirense will play on the road against Illiabum (#9) in Ilhavo and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
