Regular Season Round 24: DniproAzot - Ferro-ZNTU 90-63

We should mention about the upset which took place in Dniprodzerzhynsk, where 7th ranked Ferro-ZNTU (9-10) was outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked DniproAzot (5-13) 90-63. It looked good early as Ferro-ZNTU took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then DniproAzot had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Ferro-ZNTU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-90. They outrebounded Ferro-ZNTU 44-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. DniproAzot players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for American forward Chris Ferguson (206-89, college: Mid-Continent) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Stanislav Ovdeyenko (191-84) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Five DniproAzot players scored in double figures. Guard Alexander Rybalko (190-79) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Mykola Vilkhovetskyi (191-88) added 9 points in the effort for Ferro-ZNTU. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. DniproAzot maintains tenth position with 5-13 record. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Mykolaiv. DniproAzot will play against higher ranked BC Odessa (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ferro-ZNTU will have a break next round.
