Sao Jose dos Campos registered the second win in a row at the start of their Liga Americas campaign. The Brazilian team knocked down Fuerza Regia to seal their next stage appearance. Five players scored in double digits for the hosts. Jimmy Baxter led the charge with 17 points. Fuerza Regia accounted for a 19:12 lead after the opening quarter. But Sao Jose improved offensively in the next period. They erupted for 27 points to narrow the deficit at a single point 39:40. Fuerza Regia regained control in the third term. The Mexican team boosted the gap at 5-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. But Sao Jose reacted with a 26-point outburst in the final period and sealed the winning outcome. Caio Silveira had 15 points, while Andre Laws added 14 points and 9 boards in the win. Eugene Phelps responded with game-high 25 points for Fuerza Regia. Josimar Ayarza had 19 points in the defeat.
