Regular Season Round 18: Ratiopharm - Fraport SKY 67-76

The most shocking disappointment of round 18 in the BBL was a home defeat of 5th ranked ratiopharm Ulm (11-7) to eighth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (9-9) 76-67. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners dominated on the defensive end, holding ratiopharm Ulm to just 5 points in third quarter. Danilo Barthel (207-91) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Robertson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Per Guenther (185-88) with 14 points and 7 assists and international Tim Ohlbrecht (210-88) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. ratiopharm Ulm's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Art.Dragons. ratiopharm Ulm at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Telekom Bsk. Deutsche Bank Skyliners is looking forward to face league's second-placed Brose Baskets in Bamberg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ratiopharm Ulm will play on the road against Phoenix Hagen and is hoping to win this game.
