The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Tezenis VE (14-3) on the court of eleventh ranked Sigma Barcellona on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Sigma Barcellona 69-65. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Tezenis VE. Tezenis VE was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Forward Matteo Da Ros (204-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian-Jamaican swingman Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Sigma Barcellona players scored in double figures. The former international guard Davide Reati (194-88) answered with 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American power forward Darryl Monroe (198-86, college: George Mason) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tezenis VE. Sigma Barcellona (7-9) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Agrigento. Tezenis VE at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with C.de Latte BRE. Sigma Barcellona is looking forward to face higher ranked Trieste (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tezenis VE will play against Agrigento (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
