An interesting game where Tortona (#5) beat host Recanati (#6) 82-78 on Sunday evening. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Tortona made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. American forward Jeffrey Crockett (201-91, college: Texas Tech) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Paolo Rotondo (205-89, agency: Players Group) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Tortona players scored in double figures. Center Giacomo Eliantonio (206-88, agency: Two Points) responded with 25 points and American guard Isaiah Sykes (198-91, college: Cent.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Newly promoted Tortona maintains fifth place with 10-7 record. Recanati at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Ferrara. Tortona will meet Roseto (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Recanati will play against Reggio Calabr. (#4) in Reggio Calabria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
