Second Stage Round 4: Tsmoki II - GOCOR-Sozh 88-64

The game between Top Four teams took place in Minsk. First ranked host Tsmoki II (12-2) smashed 3rd ranked GOCOR-Sozh (10-4) 88-64. It looked good early as GOCOR-Sozh took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tsmoki II had a 32-17 second period charge getting the lead and GOCOR-Sozh was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-88. Tsmoki II forced 21 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers and outrebounded them 51-32 including 20 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by forward Yauheni Beliankou (197-95) who scored that evening 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Siarhei Kazlou (203-95) supported him with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds by Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (201-87) did not help to save the game for GOCOR-Sozh. The former international point guard Siarhei Charykau (185-82, college: Yakima Valley CC) added 24 points for lost side. Tsmoki II maintains first position in League with 12-2 record. GOCOR-Sozh at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Tsmoki II will play against Rubon (#5) in Vitebsk in the next round. GOCOR-Sozh will play on the road against the league's second-placed Grodno-93 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
