Second Stage Round 3: Ezerunas-Karys - Trakai 63-92

Very important is a home loss of Ezerunas-Karys (20-8) against Trakai (18-11) on Friday night. Host Ezerunas-Karys was crushed by Trakai in Moletai 92-63. The game without a history. Trakai led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Trakai outrebounded Ezerunas-Karys 39-24 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Caleb Sutton (198-90, college: Judson) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Trakai's coach Adndrius Slezas felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ezerunas-Karys in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Trakai will play against Zanavykas (#7) in Sakiai in the next round. Ezerunas-Karys will play on the road against Suduva-Mantinga (#3) in Marijampole and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
