Second Stage Round 3: Zanavykas - Petrochema 89-68

There was a minor upset in Sakiai where Petrochema (15-13) was crushed by Zanavykas (14-15) 89-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Zanavykas. Petrochema was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Zanavykas outrebounded Petrochema 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for center Tomas Miskinis (201-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) helped adding 22 points. Four Zanavykas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) with 23 points and forward Karolis Sarukas (198-95) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Zanavykas will face Trakai (#4) on the road in the next round. Petrochema will play against Nafta-Uni. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
