Regular Season Round 17: Pogon Prudnik - GKS Tychy 60-76

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked GKS Tychy and 11th ranked Pogon Prudnik had identical 5-11 record. But Pogon Prudnik was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Tychy 76-60 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by GKS Tychy. Pogon Prudnik was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Guard Marcin Dymala (188-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Tomasz Madziar (195-92) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and center Tomasz Nowakowski (207-90) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Pogon Prudnik. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GKS Tychy (6-11) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Astoria Bydg. Pogon Prudnik lost third consecutive game. Pogon Prudnik at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. GKS Tychy will face higher ranked Legia (#5) in Warszawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pogon Prudnik will play on the road against AZS PP (#14) in Poznan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
