Regular Season Round 88: Toronto R. - Sacramento K. 119-102

Date: January 28, 2015
Around 13 months ago, two listing franchises pulled the trigger on a deal that was supposed to provide a far bigger boost for one side than the other. Everyone expected the Sacramento Kings to be the chief beneficiaries of the Rudy Gay trade, but instead, they have barely progressed, while the Raptors have taken off, as if unshackled from a giant weight on their backs. The team's latest conquest was a 119-102 win over the Kings at the ACC on Wednesday, despite 22 points from Gay in his second return to Toronto. The Raptors improved to a stunning 72-37 since the swap, only four teams have won more - none in the East -and the players they acquired had a huge hand in the latest victory. Greivis Vasquez, a starter for the time being, propelled the best outside attack for the team in weeks, with four treys on five attempts. Fellow Kings castoff Patrick Patterson had three more and Chuck Hayes provided some sturdy defence on Kings superstar DeMarcus Cousins. Courtesy of: canoe.ca
