Second Stage Round 5: Trakai - Perlas-MRU 84-92

An interesting game for Perlas-MRU (24-6) which played road game in Trakai against 4th placed Trakai (19-12). First ranked Perlas-MRU managed to get a 8-point victory 92-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trakai. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 28-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. Perlas-MRU dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Trakai's 38. Trakai was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and forward Antanas Udras (203-92) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Perlas-MRU have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 24-6 record. Trakai at the other side keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
