Regatas Corrientes got to the winning start of their Liga Americas campaign. They topped Marinos de Anzoategui of Venezuela for the first victory. Phillip Hopson posted 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Argentinean team. Regatas Corrientes eked out a 21:16 lead after ten minutes of action. The teams exchanged blows throughout the second frame. Regatas secured a 33:28 halftime lead. The Argentinean team boosted the gap in the third term. The hosts triggered a 25:12 rally to build a 58:40 lead heading into the fourth stanza. Marinos held the home team to only 5 points in the final frame but came up empty at the end. Marcellus Sommerville connected for 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Hakeem Rollins added 11 points in the victory. Aaron Harper responded with 14 points for Marinos. Jose Vargas had 10 points in the loss.
