There was no surprise in Dublin where 7th ranked Belfast Star (3-9) was defeated by fifth ranked UCD Marian (6-7) 82-71. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Preston Ross (198, college: Winston Salem) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Dan James (189-90) accounted for 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. American guard Ricky Taylor (195-89, college: Chattanooga) came up with 26 points and 6 rebounds and guard Conor Quinn (187-95) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Belfast Star in the defeat. UCD Marian maintains fifth place with 6-7 record. Belfast Star lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost.
