Regular Season Round 18: Final Genclik - I.T.U. 81-84

There was a small surprise in Bursa where fourteenth ranked ITU Istanbul (7-11) edged 12th ranked Final Genclik (7-11) 84-81 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-15. But Final Genclik won second period 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when ITU Istanbul won last quarter 18-16. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jayme Miller (203-85) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and forward Serkan Ozver (206-90, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five ITU Istanbul and four Final Genclik players scored in double figures. ITU Istanbul moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with defeated Final Genclik. ITU Istanbul will face higher ranked Gediz (#11) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
