Regular Season Round 19: Cambados - Canarias 76-58

Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Cambados (9-9) beat at home 11th ranked Canarias (7-11) 76-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Cambados led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Cambados outrebounded Canarias 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Argentinian guard Juan Martin Orellano (190-89) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Cambados' coach Yago Casal used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Roberto Guerra (196-83) responded with 18 points and 4 steals and Russian center Konstantin Kulikov (213-95) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Cambados maintains ninth place with 9-9 record. Newly promoted Canarias dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Cambados will face Azpeitia (#11) at home in the next round. Canarias will play against the league's second-placed Caceres Basket having rather not much hope for a victory.
