Regular Season Round 36: Gigantes - Soles 100-89

The most important game in the last round took place in Toluca between third ranked Soles (25-10) and tenth ranked Gigantes (13-20) on Saturday night. Soles were defeated by Gigantes on the road 100-89. The game without a history. Gigantes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gigantes forced 20 Soles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Soles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman Tim Pickett (192-81, college: Florida St., agency: Interperformances) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized American Eder Zuniga (190-87, college: Carroll, MT, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) chipped in 30 points and 4 assists. Four Gigantes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international Roman Martinez (201-88, college: N.Mexico) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) added 25 points and 4 assists respectively. Soles' coach Ivan Deniz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gigantes maintains tenth position with 13-20 record. Soles at the other side keep the third place with ten games lost. Gigantes are looking forward to face higher ranked Titanicos (#9) in Leon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Soles will have a break next round.
