Regular Season Round 18: Stelmet ZG - Slask Wroclaw 80-70

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Zielona Gora. Second ranked Stelmet faced 3rd ranked Slask. Host Stelmet (15-3) defeated guests from Wroclaw (13-5) 80-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Slask. The game was mostly controlled by Stelmet. Slask managed to win third quarter 16-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Stelmet won last quarter 23-15. They also forced 19 Slask turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) who scored 27 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) chipped in 8 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Roderick Trice (185-84, college: S.Carolina) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and international swingman Jakub Dloniak (194-83) added 16 points respectively. Slask's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Stelmet have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-3 record having just -1 point less than leader PGE Turow. Slask at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Stelmet are looking forward to face AZS Koszalin (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Slask will play against Energa Czarni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
