Second Stage Round 4: Eskilstuna - Helsingborg 78-65

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Eskilstuna as it allowed them to take a leadership position in BEHS forts. Eskilstuna defeated 5th ranked Helsingborg at home 78-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Helsingborg. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Eskilstuna's pressure prevailed and they won that period 24-18 extending their advantage to 13 points. Eskilstuna shot 30 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Helsingborg only scored nine points from the stripe. Eskilstuna had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. 31 personal fouls committed by Helsingborg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Hannes Widell (183-94) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Martin Johansson (197-93) who added 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Eskilstuna players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Max Johansson (195-92) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian center Martynas Kuksta (203-89) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Helsingborg's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Eskilstuna have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Taby/Djursholm. Helsingborg at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with Jarfalla. Helsingborg will play next round against Brahe Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Eskilstuna will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Sanda Basket in Huskvarna.
