Regular Season Round 18: Wilki Morskie - Asseco 69-67

A very interesting game took place in Szczecin. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Asseco (10-8) to fifteenth ranked Wilki Morskie (5-13) 69-67 on Monday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Asseco. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Asseco won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) notched 15 points to lead the effort and American swingman Rodney Green (195-88, college: La Salle) supported him with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for Asseco. Lithuanian center Ovidijus Galdikas (217-88) added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all six shots). Wilki Morskie moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Wikana-Start and Polpharma. Asseco at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Wilki Morskie's next round opponent will be higher ranked Anwil (#9) in Wloclawek and it may be quite challenging game.
