Important game to mention about took place in Byblos. Third ranked UBA (6-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging their biggest opponent Sagesse (7-3) 92-89 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Sagesse took an 14-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then UBA took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) scored 32 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Bosnian-Serbian power forward Ratko Varda (212-79, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 23 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 6 assists and naturalized Australian power forward Julian Khazzouh (209-86) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Sagesse players scored in double figures. UBA maintains third position with 6-4 record having just three points less than leader Al Riyadi. Sagesse at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. UBA will play against bottom-ranked Hoops Club (#8) in Beirut in the next round where they are favorite. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Homenetm. B.
