Regular Season Round 15: Breidablik - IA 76-80
Date: February 6, 2015
The game in Kopavogur was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked IA (7-6) played at the court of 6th ranked Breidablik (4-10). IA managed to secure a 4-point victory 80-76 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Breidablik won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American point guard Jamarco Warren (180-88, college: Charleston So.) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Fannar Helgason (202-84) helped adding 16 points and 13 rebounds. Warren is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American Jerry Hollis (198-87, college: Johnson C. Smith, agency: Sherman International) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and guard Runar Ingi Erlingsson (187-89) scored 12 points and 9 assists. Breidablik's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. IA maintains fourth place with 7-6 record. Breidablik lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. IA will meet bottom-ranked Thor AK (#8) in the next round. Breidablik will play against Hamar and hope to secure a win.
