Second Stage Round 7: Petrochema - Suduva-Mantinga 65-74

There was no surprise in Jonava where 5th ranked Petrochema (16-15) was defeated by third ranked Suduva-Mantinga (20-11) 74-65 on Friday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-65. Suduva-Mantinga made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Petrochema turnovers. Forward Paulius Petrilevicius (200-91) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) chipped in 18 points. point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) produced 23 points and forward Tomas Milinskas (202-90) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Suduva-Mantinga moved-up to second place, which they share with Ezerunas-Karys. Loser Petrochema dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will have a break next round. Petrochema will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga (#2) in Marijampole and hope to win that game.
