There was an upset when 4th placed ratiopharm Ulm (13-8) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked BBC Bayreuth (9-12) 94-82 on Saturday. The game without a history. BBC Bayreuth led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Per Guenther (185-88) with 22 points and 4 assists and Serbian forward Boris Savovic (206-87, agency: Beo Basket) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BBC Bayreuth moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Phoenix Hagen. Loser ratiopharm Ulm keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. BBC Bayreuth will face higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#10) in Frankfurt in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ratiopharm Ulm will play at home against Mitteldeutscher BC (#14) and hope to win that game.
