Second Stage Round 8: Suduva-Mantinga - Petrochema 71-69

Sixth-ranked Petrochema (16-16) was very close to win a game against second ranked Suduva-Mantinga (21-11) in Marijampole. Suduva-Mantinga managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-11 Petrochema's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 71-69 at the end of the game. Suduva-Mantinga players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Belarusian guard Maksim Shustau (186-86) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Paulius Petrilevicius (200-91) who added 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Forward Aurimas Urbonas (197-93) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Petrochema players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Suduva-Mantinga have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-11 record having four points less than leader Delikatesas, which they share with Ezerunas-Karys. Petrochema at the other side keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
