Capitanes de Arecibo bounced back after the starting loss in Liga Americas Group D and stormed past Patriotas in the second game. David Cortez led the Puerto Rican team with 14 points. Capitanes set the tone early in the game. They used a 27:13 run in the opening frame to take a 14-point lead. Capitanes extended the margin in the second period. The Puerto Rican outfit secured a 48:28 halftime lead. Patriotas narrowed the gap in the third term. But Capitanes dropped 21 points in the final stanza to seal the winning outcome. Justin Knox had 12 points in the victory. Corbin Thomas answered with 20 points and 10 rebounds for Patriotas. Horace Wormely accounted for 19 points in the defeat.
