No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Rosa (13-6) crushed 13th ranked Polpharma (5-14) in Starogard 91-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 18-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-72. Rosa dominated on the defensive end, holding Polpharma to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Polpharma 38-27 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian power forward Uros Mirkovic (205-82, agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Rosa's coach Wojciech Kaminski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Tony Meier (204-90, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Polpharma. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rosa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Slask Wroclaw. Loser Polpharma keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Rosa will face league's leader PGE Turow in Zgorzelec in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polpharma will play on the road against Anwil (#9) in Wloclawek and hope to win that game.
