Regular Season Round 18: Pitesti - Craiova 76-75

Eleventh-ranked Craiova (5-11) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Pitesti (10-7) on Saturday. Pitesti managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Craiova won third quarter 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pitesti made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech, agency: LUMANI 10.7) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Serbian guard Djordje Micic (196-83) replied with 20 points and Serbian guard Ivan Bosnjak (198-82, agency: BeoExcell) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Craiova. Pitesti moved-up to fourth place, which they share with BC Timisoara and Oradea. Craiova lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Pitesti will face higher ranked U-Banca TR (#3) in Cluj in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Craiova will play at home against BC Timisoara (#6) and hope to win that game.
