Regular Season Round 21: Mulhouse - Challans 87-84

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Mulhouse Basket (8-11) edged at home higher ranked Vendee Challans (10-9) 87-84 on Saturday. Mulhouse Basket made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Vendee Challans was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was British-Ghanian center Eric Boateng (208-85, college: Arizona St.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). American-Jamaican Ronald Yates (200-83, college: St.Peter's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Aurelien Toto N'Kote (193-79) who recorded 21 points and Bahamas power forward Lavar Simmons (201-83, college: Master's) added 12 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Five Mulhouse Basket and four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Mulhouse Basket maintains twelfth place with 8-11 record. Vendee Challans at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Mulhouse Basket will face league's second-placed JA Vichy on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
