Second Stage Round 8: Rubon II - BGEU-RCOR 88-81

Very important is a road loss of second ranked BGEU-RCOR (7-11) against fourth ranked Rubon II (5-11) on Saturday night. Visiting BGEU-RCOR was defeated by Rubon II in a tough game in Vitebsk 81-88. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 22-13 last quarter charge of BGEU-RCOR cut the lead to 88-81 at the end of the game. Rubon II had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Rubon II especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. The winners were led by forward Egor Gil (195-96) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Victor Ilyukevich (203-94) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds by forward Dmitry Borisenok (201-97) did not help to save the game for BGEU-RCOR. point guard Andrei Rogozenko (180-97) added 18 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Rubon II maintains fourth position in League with 5-11 record. BGEU-RCOR at the other side keeps the second place with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
