There was a minor upset in Hiroshima where 3rd placed Dragonflies (14-14) were defeated by sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (9-23) 68-59 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-13. But Dragonflies won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hokkaido L. won last quarter 22-15. The best player for the winners was American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. The former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. International power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Dragonflies' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hokkaido L. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 9-23 record. Dragonflies lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the third position with 14 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face league's second-placed Tochigi Brex at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dragonflies will play against the league's leader Wakayama T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
