The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked ALBA Berlin (19-2) in Frankfurt on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by eleventh ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (10-11) in overtime 87-80. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ALBA Berlin won third quarter 11-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where ALBA Berlin used huge pressure winning it 20-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-18. Deutsche Bank Skyliners made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 ALBA Berlin turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by ALBA Berlin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and his fellow American import guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) chipped in 18 points. Four Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier, agency: Beo Basket) with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian power forward Leon Radosevic (208-90) scored 14 points. ALBA Berlin's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams.
