Regular Season Round 19: Galil Gilboa - Bnei Hertzeliyya 77-100
Date: February 9, 2015
11th ranked Galil Gilboa (5-14) was outscored at home by ninth ranked Bnei Hasharon (7-12) with the biggest margin this round 100-77 on Monday night. The game was mostly controlled by Bnei Hasharon. Galil Gilboa was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnei Hasharon shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. International point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85) helped adding 16 points and 10 assists. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Polish point guard Oded Brandwein (179-88, agency: N.E.T.) responded with 19 points (made all of his eight free throws) and Itay Segev (204-95, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bnei Hasharon maintains ninth place with 7-12 record, which they share with Ironi Nahariya. Galil Gilboa lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will face league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galil Gilboa will play on the road against Maccabi Ashdod (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
