Second Stage Round 4: Enisey - Mons-Hainaut 83-88

There was a small surprise in Krasnoyarsk where fourth ranked Belgian Belfius Mons-Hainaut (1-3) defeated much higher ranked Russian Enisey (2-2) 88-83 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Belfius Mons-Hainaut made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Enisey was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Mike Smith (198-87, college: E.Tenn.St.) fired 30 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The other American import point guard Talor Battle (182-88, college: Penn St.) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. American-Bosnian point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 assists and 4 steals and Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: Beo Basket) added 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Enisey's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Belfius Mons-Hainaut left bottom position moving up to third place in Group L, which they share with Antwerp. Loser Enisey keeps the second position with two games lost. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will face Antwerp Giants (#3) at home in the next round. Enisey will play against Trabzonspor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
