Second Stage Round 6: Virtus Acea - CAI Zaragoza 87-66

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Italian Virtus Acea as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group I. Virtus Acea smashed 4th ranked Spanish CAI Zaragoza in Roma 87-66. The game without a history. Virtus Acea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Virtus Acea forced 22 CAI Zaragoza turnovers. It was a good game for Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American guard Kyle Gibson (196-87, college: Louisiana Tech) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Virtus Acea players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 16 points and Dutch center Henk Norel (214-87) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for CAI Zaragoza. CAI Zaragoza's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. CAI Zaragoza at the other side stay at the bottom place with five games lost. They share the position with Nancy.
