Regular Season Round 11: Moutahed - Tadamon 89-87

Important game to mention about took place in Tripoli. Seventh ranked Al Moutahed (5-6) saved a 2-point derby victory at home edging 5th ranked Tadamon (4-7) 89-87 on Thursday evening. It looked good early as Tadamon took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Al Moutahed had a 28-11 second period charge getting the lead and Tadamon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 87-89. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!). American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) accounted for 24 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) came up with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American point guard Joey Accaoui (176-89, college: Vermont) added 23 points and 7 assists respectively for Tadamon in the defeat. Five Tadamon players scored in double figures. Al Moutahed moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Champville. Tadamon at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Homenetm. B. Al Moutahed will play against league's leader Al Riyadi in Beirut in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tadamon will play at home against the league's second-placed Sagesse (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
