The game between Top Four teams took place in Kanagawa. Third ranked host Toshiba Thunders (21-10) defeated 3rd placed Dragonflies (15-15) 96-83. Toshiba Thunders shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Dragonflies 37-23 including a 27-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) chipped in 15 points and 8 assists. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) produced 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 21-10 record having five points less than leader Hitachi SR which they share with defeated Dragonflies. Newly promoted Dragonflies keep the third position with 15 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will again meet at home Dragonflies (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dragonflies will have a break next round.
