Regular Season Round 20: GKS Tychy - GTK Gliwice 75-73

A very close game took place in Tychy between GKS Tychy and GTK Gliwice. Twelfth ranked GKS Tychy (7-13) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked GTK Gliwice (8-12). GKS Tychy managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-73. The winners were led by point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) who scored that evening 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) supported him with 13 points and 9 rebounds. GKS Tychy's coach Tomasz Jagielka allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 18 points and 4 assists by Artur Donigiewicz (190-84) did not help to save the game for GTK Gliwice. point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92) added 18 points and 4 assists for the guests. Four GKS Tychy and five GTK Gliwice players scored in double figures. GKS Tychy moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. GTK Gliwice at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. GKS Tychy will meet Astoria Bydg. (#13) in the next round. GTK Gliwice will play against AZS PP (#14) and hope to secure a win.
