Ninth-ranked Tonybet (6-20) gave a tough game to fifth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (14-11) in Prienai on Saturday. The visitors from Pasvalys managed to secure only two-point victory 93-91. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-91. P.Zvaigzdes made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis) who scored 23 points and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Mantas Sernius used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Simonas Kymantas (212-93) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Tonybet players scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes maintains fifth place with 14-11 record. Tonybet lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 20 games lost. P.Zvaigzdes will meet Lietkabelis (#8) in the next round. Tonybet will play against Dzukija in Alytus and hope to secure a win.
