Regular Season Round 18: Snaefell - Njardvik 79-101

Date: February 15, 2015
Very predictable result in Stykkisholmur where fourth ranked Njardvik (11-7) smashed 9th ranked Snaefell (8-10) 101-79. The game was mostly controlled by Njardvik. Snaefell was better in fourth quarter 32-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-87, college: LIU Post) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Chris Woods (195-89, college: Pfeiffer) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American guard Austin Bracey (190-90) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Snaefell. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Njardvik moved-up to third place, which they share with Stjarnan. Snaefell lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Njardvik's next round opponent will be Haukar (#5) in Hafnarfjordur. Snaefell will play on the road against IR in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
