We should mention about the upset which took place in Ulm, where higher ranked ratiopharm Ulm (13-9) was outleveled at home by fourteenth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (9-12) 84-63 on Sunday. American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Darryl Webb (198-88, college: Indiana, PA) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Slovenian guard Jaka Klobucar (198-87) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mitteldeutscher BC moved-up to twelfth place. Loser ratiopharm Ulm keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC will face bottom-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#18) at home in the next round where they are favorite. ratiopharm Ulm will play against Artland Dragons (#8) in Quakenbrueck and hope to win that game.
