There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Licher Basket (7-12) won against at home 7th ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (9-10) 72-68 on Sunday. SG Schwelmer Baskets were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Eric Curth (193-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. American guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Canadian swingman Chris Johnson (196-88, college: St.Bonaventure) replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and center Sebastian Schroter (207-83) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for SG Schwelmer Baskets. Four SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. Licher Basket moved-up to ninth place in Group South, which they share with Langen. SG Schwelmer Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Licher Basket will face Saarlouis (#12) on the road in the next round.
