Second Stage Round 5: TU/Rock - Avtodor 68-91

Rather predictable result when first ranked Russian Avtodor (4-1) rolled over bottom-ranked Estonian TU/Rock (1-4) in Tartu 91-68 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-68. Avtodor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TU/Rock's 34. They outrebounded TU/Rock 48-20 including a 35-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Avtodor looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists. His fellow American import power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Tanel Kurbas (197-88) answered with 12 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-91) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for TU/Rock. Four Avtodor and five TU/Rock players scored in double figures. TU/Rock's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Avtodor have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Avtodor maintains first place in Group K with 4-1 record, which they share with Fraport SKY. TU/Rock lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with four games lost. Avtodor will face league's second-placed Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Frankfurt in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TU/Rock will play at home against Den Bosch and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
